Hey all, Here are just a few good sites for researching family history. Also comment below if you have websites that are not listed you find a good resource. Find a Grave: Http://www.findagrave.com this site honors those whom have passed away. But has tons of info su h as obits, history and pictures that families share on the individual memorials. It's a WONDERFUL resource. (Free) Ancestry: Http://www.ancestry.com this site is not free. It's about 99.00 for 6 months. However it is loaded with tons of resources, such as pictures, newspapers, census, war records, marriage and death reports and so much more. Use Google to search up county historical soc…

So ancestry has a feature that allows the family group sheets. Pdf for example is of John Green Gay and Nancy A. Whitsell. If you are on ancestry please feel free to post tours under the already started forum called "my tree" or post it anywhere I can always move it to the right spot. Also we have printable ones as well. Will go find link and share it here. You can send me yours by Printing form out, handwriting the info, taking a picture of it after its filled out. This post will focus on old newspaper searching. I will add more as I go and also encourage you to leave comments also adding tips and tricks if you have some to share. Or have questions. 1. The picture is of a half name. Here is why. The computers that locate words and highlight them so you can find the articles cannot read out a whole word when the word in the sentences typed by the newspaper was cut short..example I type in Whitsell it's a last name of one of our relatives. I wasnt having luck finding a particular article. As below (just an example, not Whitsell..but it's a point I am trying to make) the Whit- next sentence finished the last name. …
